Berlin, 21 June 2023 (WAI): The Pakistani contingent at the Special Olympics World Games 2023 has embarked on a remarkable journey, showcasing their indomitable spirit, talent, and determination. The Pakistani team has garnered tremendous accolades, leaving an indelible mark on the global stage of inclusivity and athleticism. The Embassy of Pakistan takes immense pride in sharing the achievements of its extraordinary athletes and their unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Before the commencement of the Games, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Faisal, along with the officers and staff of the Embassy, hosted a warm welcome reception at the Pakistan House in Berlin. The Pakistani squad of 54 male and 33 female athletes and their coaches and support officials were greeted with open arms. The reception also witnessed the presence of esteemed community members invited to encourage and support the young and privileged athletes.
The atmosphere was electric when Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Faisal addressed the gathering. He expressed immense pride in witnessing the gleaming eyes, hopeful hearts, and unwavering determination of the Pakistani athletes. The Ambassador extended heartfelt congratulations to the team management, including Ronak Lakhani and Yasmin Hyder, and all the coaches and affiliated personnel who played a pivotal role in preparing the athletes for this global stage.
Envoy Faisal emphasized that Pakistani athletes’ participation in the Special Olympics World Games 2023 was a proud moment for the country and an opportunity to exhibit the country’s youth’s great potential and talent. He reassured the athletes and their supporters that the Embassy would support them wholeheartedly throughout their time in Berlin and go above and above to ensure their success.

Saifullah Solangi’s remarkable achievement in the Back Squat Powerlifting event, winning 4 medals in different categories, has brought immense pride and joy to the Pakistani contingent. Pakistan’s athletes have proven their mettle and passion for the Special Olympics by winning the country’s first-ever medal in the 2023 World Games.
