Astana, 4 July 2024 (WAI): On July 3, 2024, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye convened in Astana as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State meeting.
The trilateral conference addressed regional and international concerns, including Gaza, Cyprus, Kashmir, and Islamophobia, as well as ties between Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan. The gathering conveyed a shared goal of opening doors for collaboration between the three nations.
During the summit, it was decided that enhancing trilateral cooperation between Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan would support regional and international peace and stability and assist in the development of the three nations’ populations.

The trilateral cooperation mechanism between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Pakistan, which had previously met with parliament speakers and ministers of foreign affairs, would now also convene with state leaders. It was also confirmed that they all shared the desire to provide chances for the three nations to work together.
The three nations stated that they were in favor of prioritizing communication among pertinent nations to resolve disputes while upholding the concepts of territorial integrity and sovereignty.
It was also reiterated how crucial it is for the three nations to work together to jointly resolve this issue and battle transnational threats, including terrorism.
The three nations of Pakistan, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan will host further sessions on the trilateral cooperation process.
