Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, has been engulfed in violence over the past few days, with mobs targeting hostels housing international students from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. The unrest reportedly began following a brawl at a hostel between local residents and foreign students.

Kyrgyzstan has been a popular destination for South Asian students seeking affordable, high-quality medical education. The recent violence highlights underlying tensions over the increasing number of international students and migrants in the country. Approximately 10,000 Pakistani students are enrolled in various institutions across Kyrgyzstan, with around 6,000 residing in Bishkek.
