Peshawar, 11 June 2024 (WAI): The Regional Connectivity Center at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar (SBBUWP), in collaboration with the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, hosted a groundbreaking international conference on “Enhancing Regional Connectivity for the Betterment of Shared Future of Mankind.” The event, held at SBBUWP, brought together leading scholars, policymakers, and representatives across various sectors to explore the pivotal role of regional connectivity in fostering a prosperous and sustainable future for all.
Key figures, including Vice Chancellor SBBUWP Professor Dr. Safia Ahmad, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, and Director of PRCCSF Khalid Taimur Akram, emphasized the importance of building bridges across regions through infrastructure development, cultural exchange, and technological advancements. The conference underscored the concept of a Community with Shared Future, advocating for inclusivity, cooperation, and mutual understanding among nations.
Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in driving economic growth and social development. Discussions centered on infrastructure development, cultural exchange, technological advancements, and strategies for promoting peace and security across the region.
Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director of Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), Islamabad, emphasized that the establishment of this center underscores the critical importance of building bridges across regions, developing cooperation, and working together towards common goals.
Highlighting the event, Professor Li Huailiang from the Communication University of China praised SBBUWP’s initiative in establishing the Regional Connectivity Center, emphasizing its role in regional prosperity. The conference featured insightful discussions on enhancing collective vision, promoting peace, and fostering closer ties among regional countries.
The conference also showcased ten presentations by students from the Department of Art & Design, illustrating innovative approaches to regional connectivity. Attended by 200 participants, including students and experts, the event provided a crucial platform for dialogue and collaboration towards a more integrated and harmonious future.
