Pakistan sends fourth Gaza relief batch, solidifies support

Islamabad, 15 January 2024 (WAI): In a resolute display of solidarity, the Government of Pakistan dispatched its fourth batch of humanitarian aid, totaling 20 tons, to the oppressed people of Gaza. The relief goods, primarily medicine items, were sent from Noor Khan Air Base via a special flight of the Pakistan Air Force.

Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan Ahmed Jawad Rabi’i, officials from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), and representatives of the Armed Forces gathered at the airbase to oversee the departure of the cargo. Minister Jilani, speaking passionately, expressed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, denouncing Israel’s use of disproportionate and indiscriminate force against civilians in Gaza, particularly women and children.

Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to justice, Minister Jilani reiterated the nation’s full support for South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice. He called for an immediate ceasefire, emphasizing the urgency of ensuring the prompt delivery of humanitarian aid to the beleaguered people of Gaza.

The aid shipment includes vital supplies such as surgical and medical items, dry food provisions, and hygiene kits, reflecting Pakistan’s dedication to addressing the immediate needs of those affected by the conflict. The caretaker Foreign Minister’s condemnation of Israel’s actions and his plea for humanitarian intervention underscored the gravity of the situation.
