Manuscript Requirements

Authors should submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.docx) format. Each submission should include:

  • Title
  • Abstract (150–250 words)
  • 5–8 Keywords
  • Main Text
  • References
  • Tables (if applicable)
  • Figures (if applicable)
  • Author Biography (100–150 words)

  • 5 line spacing
  • 1-inch margins
  • Page numbers
  • Left-aligned text
  • Minimal formatting
  • Use heading styles consistently
  • Avoid unnecessary colors and decorative formatting

Language and Style

Submissions should be written in clear, professional English. Authors are encouraged to:

  • Write in an objective and analytical style
  • Support arguments with evidence
  • Avoid jargon where possible
  • Define specialized terminology
  • Use concise headings and subheadings
  • Ensure logical structure and coherence

WAI follows international academic and editorial standards and reserves the right to edit accepted manuscripts for clarity, grammar, style, and consistency.

Referencing Style

World Affairs Insider accepts either:

  • Chicago Manual of Style (Notes & Bibliography)
  • APA (7th Edition)

Authors should use one citation style consistently throughout the manuscript. References must be complete and accurate.

Tables, Figures, and Maps

Tables and figures should:

  • Be clearly numbered
  • Include descriptive titles
  • Include complete source information
  • Be submitted separately where possible
  • Be editable (Excel preferred for charts)

Acceptable formats: Excel, SVG, EPS, PDF, PNG (300 dpi minimum). Maps, diagrams, and infographics should be submitted in high-resolution formats.

Images

  • Be original or appropriately licensed
  • Have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi
  • Include captions and credits
  • Be submitted separately rather than embedded

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use copyrighted images.

Data and Sources

  • Verify all data before submission
  • Clearly identify data sources
  • Cite official publications whenever available
  • Use recent and reliable sources
  • Ensure transparency of statistical information

Where datasets are original, authors should explain methodology.

Originality

  • Be original
  • Not be under review elsewhere
  • Not have been previously published
  • Be free from plagiarism

All submissions may be screened using plagiarism detection software.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Disclosure

Authors using Artificial Intelligence tools during manuscript preparation must disclose their use.

AI tools may assist with:

  • Language editing
  • Grammar correction
  • Formatting

Authors remain fully responsible for:

  • Accuracy
  • Interpretation
  • Citations
  • Originality
  • Ethical compliance

AI tools must not be listed as authors.

Ethical Standards

Authors are expected to maintain the highest standards of research integrity. Submissions should avoid:

  • Fabricated data
  • Misrepresentation
  • Plagiarism
  • Defamation
  • Hate speech
  • Political propaganda
  • Copyright infringement

Editorial Review Process

Each submission undergoes an editorial review process consisting of:

Peer Review

Research Articles, Working Papers, and Research Reports may undergo:

Authors retain copyright to their original work unless otherwise agreed. By submitting a manuscript, authors grant World Affairs Insider a non-exclusive license to:

Conflict of Interest

Authors should disclose any financial, institutional, or personal interests that could influence the research.

Corrections and Retractions
