World Affairs Insider

Leadership & Founder

Meet Hira Sarwar and Dr. Muhammad Amjad Raza—the leaders shaping an independent platform for research, dialogue, and global understanding.

Our Leadership

Two perspectives, one shared commitment

World Affairs Insider is guided by complementary leadership that brings together institutional vision, scholarly rigour, and a belief in knowledge as a public good.

Founding Leadership

Hira Sarwar

Founder and Executive Director I

Hira Sarwar founded World Affairs Insider with a clear purpose: to create an independent platform where rigorous research, strategic analysis, and informed public dialogue could meet. Her leadership centres on making complex international developments accessible, relevant, and connected to the realities shaping communities and institutions.

She leads WAI’s institutional direction, partnerships, and engagement with emerging scholars. Her collaborative approach encourages new voices while safeguarding the intellectual independence and professional standards that give the organisation’s work lasting value.

Leadership begins by creating room for thoughtful questions, independent ideas, and people whose perspectives deserve to be heard.

Academic Leadership

Dr. Muhammad Amjad Raza

Founder and Executive Director II

Dr. Muhammad Amjad Raza contributes scholarly depth and strategic perspective to WAI’s leadership. His outlook connects careful research with the practical questions facing policymakers, institutions, and societies in a rapidly changing international environment.

Through academic guidance and intellectual stewardship, he supports a culture of analytical rigour, constructive debate, and cross-disciplinary learning. His leadership strengthens WAI’s commitment to research that is credible, globally informed, and useful beyond the academy.

The value of research lies not only in what it explains, but in how responsibly it helps us understand choices, consequences, and common ground.
