Islamabad, 1 May 2024 (WAI): As cricket fever spreads worldwide in preparation for the United States’ maiden T20 Cricket World Cup in June, diplomatic relations between the United States and Pakistan reach new heights with a friendly and sports gesture.
U.S. Ambassador Donald Blome recently welcomed the world-class Pakistani cricket team to the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad for a wonderful pre-World Cup meet-and-greet in the spirit of camaraderie and goodwill.Â
A cricket lover, Ambassador Blome interacted enthusiastically with the players, learning from left-arm quick Shaheen Shah Afridi and all-rounder Shadab Khan about the game.
The exchange of gifts further underscored the bond between the two nations, as the Pakistani Team graciously presented Ambassador Blome with a signed cricket bat and the national team jersey, while Ambassador Blome reciprocated with a commemorative embassy cricket ball and an autographed softball bat, symbolizing the spirit of friendship and collaboration.
