Pakistan’s Prime Minister set to visit China

Beijing, 31 May 2024 (WAI): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan will visit China from June 4 to 8 at the request of Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

Prime Minister Shehbaz will visit China first since the new Pakistani administration was established this year.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li, and Zhao Leji, the Chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, will meet Shehbaz. During these meetings, they are anticipated to engage in detailed discussions about issues of mutual interest and bilateral relations and plan for the future development of relations.

Shehbaz would visit Guangdong and Shaanxi provinces in addition to Beijing. The friendship between the two states has endured the test of time and remained unwavering.

The two sides continue to communicate and coordinate well on international and regional affairs. Both states have enjoyed close high-level exchanges in recent years under the direction of their respective leaders. Furthermore, they have steadily advanced bilateral pragmatic cooperation and achieved successful outcomes in the high-quality construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

China is eager to collaborate with Pakistan to advance the two countries’ bilateral all-weather strategic cooperative cooperation. Additionally,  it creates a more cohesive China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the coming years.
