Pakistan’s Prime Minister inaugurates Gwadar’s Connectivity

Gwadar, 27 July 2023 (WAI): Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif, accompanied by the Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir, paid a one-day visit to Gwadar, commemorating a step in the region’s development. The Prime Minister launched several groundbreaking initiatives during his stay to strengthen the local community’s infrastructure and enhance its residents’ quality of life.

The 102 km Basima-Khuzdar Road, a vital transportation route linking Basima and Khuzdar cities, was one of the significant efforts that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated. This road promotes increased accessibility and regional integration. The 55-kilometer Awaran-Jhaljao Road, which will improve communication between Awaran and Jhaljao, will also significantly impact economic growth and social harmony.

Modern New Gwadar International Airport was unveiled during the grand inaugural event. This sophisticated aviation hub is expected to play a crucial role in developing Gwadar into a bustling economic city, attracting international trade and investment, and serving as a gateway for travelers worldwide.

The 132kv Panjgur-Nag-Basima-Nal Transmission Line, another significant project that was inaugurated, will significantly increase the region’s power transmission capacity. It will also ensure a stable and reliable electricity supply to meet the growing energy demands of Gwadar and its surrounding areas.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif presented relief cheques to deserving Gwadar fishermen during his visit. The gesture reflects the government’s commitment to assisting those who contribute significantly to the nation’s economy and livelihoods by ensuring they have access to critical resources during difficult times.

The Prime Minister also gave deserving Gwadar University students laptops to empower youth and promote educational achievement. The government wants to produce an educated and talented workforce that can promote advancement and development by providing the next generation with the resources for learning and growth.
