London, 8 October 2023 (WAI): Dr. Muhammad Faisal, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, received the British Pakistani Psychiatrists Association and other distinguished guests to the Pakistan High Commission in London in recognition of World Mental Health Day.
World Mental Health Day, marked globally on October 10th, is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health concerns and mobilizing activities to support mental health worldwide. This year’s subject, “Mental Health in an Unequal World,” emphasizes the critical need for equitable access to mental health services, resolving disparities, and fostering mental well-being for all.
In his introductory remarks, High Commissioner Dr. Muhammad Faisal stressed the need to recognize and resolve mental health concerns. He stated, “Mental health is essential to our well-being and affects individuals, families, and communities. It is critical that we continue to increase awareness and collaborate to eliminate the stigma associated with mental health issues.”
The British Pakistani Psychiatrists Association, represented by renowned mental health specialists, underlined the growing mental health challenges in the British Pakistani community and broader society.
