Oslo, 2 August 2023 (WAI): As they win two consecutive matches in Norway, the Pakistan Street Children Football Team is celebrating their recent success in the ongoing World Youth Football Cup ‘Norway Cup’. The team’s exceptional success has won the hearts of sports enthusiasts and earned appreciation from Pakistan’s diplomatic community at the highest levels.
The Pakistani Embassy in Norway welcomed the accomplished young athletes with open arms under the direction of Ambassador Saadia Qazi, who expressed her most profound respect for their outstanding accomplishments. Pakistan qualified for the tournament’s second round after defeating Arvoll IL club 2-1. Tofail Shinwari, the team’s captain, and Abdul Wahab scored Pakistan’s two goals.
Pakistan began the competition on a victorious note on July 30 by defeating Frigg Oslo FK 11-1. Tofail Shinwari, Faisal, Shamir Ali, and Saud are the forwards on the Pakistani team. The midfielders are Abdul Wahab, Muhammad Ali, Ali Asif, and Ahmed Raza. The defenders are Muhammad Adeel, Abid Ali, Obaidullah, and Asad Nasir.
The Pakistan Street Child Football Team finished second place at the Street Child Football World Cup, hosted in Qatar. It also placed second and third in the Norway Cups in 2015 and 2016, respectively.
