Bangkok, 28 June 2023 (WAI): A delegation from the Overseas Pakistanis Thai Association (OPTA) visited the Embassy to discuss and outline plans for the upcoming celebration of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
The meeting aimed to enhance the connection between the Pakistani diaspora in Thailand and their motherland, underlining the significance of this momentous occasion.
Independence Day holds tremendous importance for the Pakistani diaspora residing abroad. It symbolizes freedom, unity, and patriotism that resonates deeply within every Pakistani, regardless of their geographical location. It’s also an emotional tribute to the predecessors who laid down their lives so that we could enjoy the blessings of a free and prosperous society.
The partnership between OPTA and the Embassy demonstrates the dedication of both organizations to strengthen the ties that bind Pakistanis residing in Thailand to their homeland. It enables the diaspora to get together, celebrate their shared ancestry, and demonstrate their cultural richness to the Thai community.
The event will serve as a venue to foster intercultural understanding and camaraderie, enhancing bilateral connections between Pakistan and Thailand.
Furthermore, the Embassy will extend its support to OPTA in organizing programs. The planned celebrations will include various activities, such as flag-hoisting ceremonies, cultural performances, exhibitions, and discussions on the significance of Independence Day. These events will bring the community closer and create awareness about Pakistan’s culture, traditions, and achievements among the Thai audience.
