Pakistan has actively and successfully engaged in global diplomacy on the Kashmir cause, a delicate and long-standing issue in the South Asian area. To promote the rights of the Kashmiri people, Pakistan has concentrated its diplomatic efforts on bringing attention to the persistent breaches of human rights occurring in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Pakistani ambassadors and personnel have participated in several diplomatic activities to raise awareness of the Kashmir problem worldwide. The issue of human rights violations in IIOJK has been brought up at seminars and events organized jointly by foreign governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and think tanks.
The President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan have all made important statements to the world community through Pakistani embassies. These statements underscore Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause by highlighting support and solidarity with the people of Kashmir in their rightful claim to self-determination.

Norwegian and Pakistani leaders co-hosted a conference at the Norwegian Parliament on the state of human rights in IIOJK. Its goals were to increase public awareness and support the rights of the Kashmiri people. Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik’s wife, Mishaal Mullick, and Ambassador to Norway, Saadia Altaf Qazi, have joined with Yasin Malik’s daughter, Raziyah Sultana, to demand an end to human rights violations in the occupied area immediately.
The unlawful detention of Yasin Malik indicates the crucial need to defend fundamental human rights. The right to a fair trial and the protection against arbitrary detention are essential to a just and democratic society. Prominent speakers and representatives from civil society, think institutes and the diaspora of Pakistanis and Kashmiris attended the event.
The Pakistani Consulate in Mashhad recognized Kashmir Black Day as a way to show sympathy for the people of Kashmir who are resisting the illegitimate Indian occupation. Similar initiatives were taken in Australia and Japan. Similar gatherings were held at the Australian Federal Parliament and the Pakistan Embassy in Tokyo. These events emphasized the importance of ending human rights violations in IIOJK and reaffirmed support for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
Pakistan Embassy in Qatar demonstrates international sympathy with Kashmiris and Palestinians. Pakistan’s Ambassador in Qatar, Dr. Muhammad Ejaz, highlighted the need to continue to discuss the Kashmir issue on all available channels.
Dr. Mohammad Faisal, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, emphasized the significance of Kashmir Black Day, emphasizing India’s conduct 76 years ago when it violated international law. Multiple stakeholders in the UK, including legislators, Kashmiri leaders, human rights campaigners, and academics, have campaigned for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir dispute. Evidence of continuous horrors committed by Indian forces in IIOJK was made public by a photo exhibit.
A seminar was held in Malaysia to show support for the people of IIOJK in association with the Consultative Council of Islamic Organization (MAPIM). Renowned academics, activists, and NGO representatives urged the international community to contribute to a diplomatic settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
To commemorate Kashmir Black Day, the Pakistan Embassy in Bern, Switzerland, hosted an event attended by Pakistanis and Kashmiris living in Switzerland. The Pakistani Embassy in Ukraine also observed the day to show support for the people of IIOJK. Ambassador Nadir Khan emphasized the human rights violations in IIOJK and the importance of raising awareness about the Kashmir issue among Ukrainians.
Asim Iftikhar, Pakistan’s Ambassador to France, emphasized that settling the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is necessary for stability and peace in the region. Pakistan’s Embassy in Sri Lanka marked Kashmir Black Day, which marked 76 years of ongoing brutality in IIOJK, with a ceremony.
Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan spoke with students at the Belarusian State University about Pakistan’s concerns and foreign policy, particularly the Kashmir issue. The dialogue promoted a better comprehension of the bilateral relations between Belarus and Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, Hasan Zaigham, with Medical students and diaspora members, observed Kashmir Black Day at the Pakistan Embassy in Kyrgyzstan. The Ambassador reiterated his political, diplomatic, and spiritual support for the Kashmiri people.
On the 76th anniversary of India’s illegal occupation of Jammu & Kashmir, the Pakistani Embassy in Portugal held a ceremony to show support for the people of IIOJK. The Pakistani Embassy in Romania hosted a Kashmir Black Day event with statements from the country’s leaders.
