Islamabad, May 7, 2025 (WAI): Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has confirmed that Indian forces conducted unprovoked airstrikes on civilian areas in Pakistan, targeting Bahawalpur’s Ahmed East area, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, and Muridke during the night. The cowardly assault resulted in the martyrdom of an innocent child and injuries to a woman and a man. No military installations were struck.
“This was a shameful attack launched from within Indian airspace. Our air force jets are airborne, and Pakistan will respond at a time and place of its choosing,” stated Lt. Gen. Chaudhry during a late-night press briefing. He emphasized that visual evidence confirms civilian infrastructure was the sole target, with innocent, unarmed Pakistanis bearing the brunt of the aggression.

In response, Pakistan’s armed forces have initiated an intense and immediate retaliatory operation. A red alert has been issued at the New Islamabad International Airport, with airspace temporarily closed and flight operations suspended to ensure civilian safety.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif condemned the act, warning that a clash with India now appears inevitable amid escalating tensions. The incident follows New Delhi’s baseless accusations against Pakistan after recent unrest in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which Islamabad categorically denies.
Pakistan reaffirms its commitment to peace but will not tolerate acts of aggression that endanger innocent lives and regional stability. The nation stands united, and every drop of innocent blood will be avenged.
