Bodensee, 1 July 2023 (WAI): On June 30, 2023, the annual multinational exercise ‘Blue Flag’ concluded successfully in the beautiful Bodensee region of Germany. This year’s practice saw the historic debut of the Pakistan Army, as a 26-member team led by the Defense Attaché took part to contribute their specific expertise in the sphere of United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping.
In peacekeeping operations, the “Blue Flag” exercise is famous internationally for fostering collaboration and interoperability among participating nations. It provides a forum for military observers from other countries to improve their awareness of various operational contexts, polish their abilities, and develop international collaboration.
Pakistan embraced the chance to participate in this esteemed exercise for the first time because of its crucial role in UN Peacekeeping deployments. The Pakistan Army delegation, led by the Defense Attaché, contributed years of focused peacekeeping expertise and insights.
During the exercise, the Pakistani delegation participated in various practical situations, training modules, and simulation exercises alongside military observers from 25 other countries. This connection encouraged sharing information, best practices, and lessons learned in peacekeeping. The delegation from the Pakistan Army was competent, flexible, and dedicated to advancing world peace and security.
