Islamabad, 8 July 2023 (WAI): Azerbaijan’s Assistant to the President, Khalid Ahadov, recently led a high-level defense delegation to Pakistan, where they had fruitful conversations with crucial officials to enhance bilateral defense cooperation.
The objective of the visit was to strengthen the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan while examining potential avenues for joint defense production and strategic military alliances.
During his visit, Khalid Ahadov met with Pakistan’s Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu. The conversations mainly were on enhancing ties between the two nations’ air forces and sharing expertise in air defense, pilot training, and joint exercises.
The meeting underlined Azerbaijan and Pakistan’s commitment to working together in the defense sector to advance regional security and stability.
Muhammad Israr Tareen, the Federal Minister for Defense Production of Pakistan, met with the Azerbaijani Defense Delegation under Khalid Ahadov’s leadership.
The discussion focused on investigating potential channels for cooperation in the military industry, such as joint ventures and knowledge transfer. Both countries were willing to enhance defense manufacturing capabilities and foster defense sector self-sufficiency.
Minister Tareen stressed the need to bolster defense ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, acknowledging the need for constant communication and information exchange. He emphasized the similarities in both the benefits and challenges that both nations face and the importance of working together to address shared security issues.
Azerbaijan’s Defense Delegation’s recent visit to Pakistan exemplifies the two countries’ dedication to strengthening their already substantial defense ties. It acts as a forum for advancing strategic alliances, creating military-to-military connections, and encouraging the sharing of top defense production techniques.
