Celebrating Türkiye-Pakistan friendship through art

Karachi, 10 October 2023 (WAI): The Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) Karachi hosted an exhibition exhibiting a portrait of Yahya Kemal Beyath, the country’s first Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, at the legendary Ahmed Parvez Art Gallery to celebrate the wonderful 75-year friendship between Türkiye and Pakistan. President ACP Mohammad Ahmed Shah, Consul General of Türkiye Cemal Sangu, and Sindh Minister for Law Omer Soomro inaugurated the exhibition.

This historic event represented a crucial milestone in Türkiye and Pakistan’s enduring friendship, highlighting the cultural and diplomatic ties that have blossomed over seven decades. Muhammad Ahmad Shah, President of the Arts Council, expressed his excitement and appreciation for the two countries’ enduring partnership, underlining the importance of art and culture in developing international connections.

A stunning portrayal of Yahya Kemal Beyath, a prominent Diplomat and Türkiye’s first Ambassador to Pakistan, was displayed in the exhibition. His tenure in Pakistan created the groundwork for the two nations’ strong and enduring alliance. The portrait was a tribute to his essential contributions to the bilateral relationship and was executed with great care and artistic skill.
