Islamabad, 6 December 2023 (WAI): On the Republic of Finland’s Independence Day, the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent its warmest greetings to the nation’s citizens and government.

Finland declared its independence from the Russian Empire in 1917, following the Bolshevik takeover, and this is celebrated on Independence Day nationwide.

The nation celebrates a national holiday in which the colors of the Finnish flag—blue and white—dominate throughout the country.

Finland is a significant trading partner of Pakistan; the primary things that Finland imports into Pakistan include machinery, chemicals, electrical and optical equipment, industrial goods, agricultural products, and telecommunication appliances.

Pakistan’s top exports are carpets, floor coverings, rice, mangoes, cotton textiles, leather apparel and clothing, sportswear, ready-made clothes, and bed linens.

Since Pakistan and Finland established diplomatic relations in 1951, they have enjoyed amicable relations.

Since Pervaiz Musharaf, the former president of Pakistan, visited Finland in 2004, the leaders of both countries have occasionally met outside of international gatherings.

Four bilateral political consultations have been conducted between the two nations thus far: the first in 2014, the second in 2016, the third in 2017, and the most current in 2019, with each country hosting the other alternately.
