Islamabad, 1 December 2023 (WAI): The fourth edition of the Pakistan-China Maritime Dialogue was conducted in Islamabad to address bilateral marine concerns and future possibilities between the two nations.
Together with Wang Jinfeng, the Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs China’s Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs, Muhammad Aamir Khan, the Director General (China) of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, co-chaired the discussion.
The parties conveyed their contentment with the current marine collaboration and decided to strengthen it further.

An extensive discussion of all aspects of bilateral maritime cooperation, including naval exchanges, regional collaboration, and the development of marine infrastructure, took place during the conference.
The meetings included cooperation in the areas of research and technology, search and rescue operations, marine disaster management, fisheries, and fighting marine pollution.
While pledging to increase bilateral maritime cooperation since the last session, both delegates emphasized the long-standing friendship and All-weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China.
A peaceful and prosperous Asia-Pacific area was the shared aim of both parties, who also acknowledged the changing maritime landscape on a regional and global scale and decided to work together towards that goal.
Bilateral interactions between the two nations are crucial to advancing practical collaboration to cooperatively react to growing threats and problems.

The importance of maritime cooperation was emphasized by both parties, who also decided to keep up the momentum of their bilateral discussions and strengthen their fleets’ relationship.
Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, the Additional Secretary (Asia-Pacific) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, was also paid a visit by Deputy Director General Wang Jinfeng during the tour.
The Additional Foreign Secretary conveyed his joy with the continuous maritime cooperation between China and Pakistan and accepted the invitation to visit China for the fifth round of maritime talks between the two countries in the next year.
The Chinese delegation expressed gratitude to Pakistan for hosting and welcoming them.
