Washington, D.C., 12 May 2024 (WAI): The United States (U.S.) has pledged Ukraine $400 million in military assistance. The package includes artillery, tank ammunition, and armored vehicles that could be deployed on the front lines immediately.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the U.S. has now given 50.6 billion USD in aid to the country. Following a month-long impasse in Congress, the bill was passed, and Ukraine is now receiving its third tranche of cash.
President Zelensky’s remarks on Wednesday emphasized the need for assistance. Although Ukraine was in a challenging situation, he was optimistic that Ukrainian forces would strike back after obtaining military support from the United States.

The announcement of aid was made on Friday following Russia’s armoured ground invasion. Russian forces created a new front in the protracted conflict fought in the east and south by making minor gains in Kharkiv’s second city.
The U.S. President reaffirmed his commitment to Ukraine after the news of the military aid package was released: “Ukraine will continue to have support from the U.S. and its coalition partner in its fight for freedom.”
The beleaguered nation of Ukraine was requesting weapons from the West. The president of Ukraine claims that as of Wednesday, Russia had started attacking Ukraine with missiles and drones. In recent days, Russian soldiers have conducted offensive strikes.
Even though the Russian soldiers encountered strong opposition in the Kharkive region, their advance was somewhat successful. Furthermore, one thing is sure: Ukraine can protect its territory, given the influx of U.S. funding.
