Islamabad, 20 December 2023 (WAI): Dr. Arif Alvi, the President, has emphasized the importance of stepping up commercial, economic, and cultural ties with Egypt, Oman, Bosnia, Sri Lanka, and Cyprus.
In conversations with the High Commissioners and Ambassadors-designate of the Democratic Socialist of Sri Lanka, the Republic of Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Arab Republic of Egypt, he made these statements.
The Ambassadors paid the President a separate visit at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday and presented their diplomatic credentials.
The President emphasized the significance Pakistan placed on its bilateral relations with Egypt, reflected in the shared values, affinities, and bonds of faith between the people of the two brotherly nations, as he welcomed Dr. Ihab Mohamed Abdelhamid Hassan, Egypt’s designated Ambassador.
He stressed the need to boost bilateral commerce and economic and cultural collaboration. Pakistan’s President conveyed his country’s grave concern over the Israeli security forces’ death of innocent people and massive destruction of public property in Gaza.
Egypt is assisting the humanitarian supplies going to Gaza, according to Dr. Ihab Mohamed Abdelhamid Hassan.
In a conversation with Sultanate of Oman Ambassador-designate Fahad Sulaiman Khalaf al Kharusi, the President stated that Oman and Pakistan had strong connections in several areas.
He told the Ambassador that Pakistan welcomed foreign investment and had established the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which offered a single point of contact for investments in the country’s energy, cooperative farming, IT, and mining sectors.

Additionally, the President underscored the atrocities that India is doing in Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).
The Ambassador wished the people and government of Pakistan all the finest that Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik could provide. He pledged to strive toward enhancing the two nations’ bilateral ties even more.
Asserting Pakistan’s strong appreciation for its partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina, founded on brotherhood and mutual trust, the President welcomed Emin Cohodarevic, the country’s new Ambassador.
He emphasized that there was a great deal of room to grow collaboration in commerce and interpersonal relationships.
The envoy pledged to do more to strengthen diplomatic, commercial, and cultural ties.
The President declared that over the last 70 years, ties between Sri Lanka and Pakistan have strengthened while addressing Admiral Ravindra Chandrasiri Wijegunaratne, a retired admiral Sri Lanka’s nominee for the High Commission.
