Nawaz Sharif, the country’s three-term nonconsecutive Prime Minister, created the well-known political party known as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Though it has experienced many difficulties and conflicts, the party has been a significant force in the nation’s political scene.

The Strategy Focus of PML-N

Realizing that Punjab is crucial to the outcome of the elections, the PML-N has deliberately focused its efforts there. The party has run a vigorous campaign, changing seats as needed.

The PML-N has backed credible candidates in seats where victory appears improbable, even if they don’t align with the conventional party. This tactical strategy seeks to secure power and forge alliances to increase the party’s prospects of forming a government.

The Election Manifesto of PML-N

Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the PML-N, revealed the party’s much-expected election manifesto on January 27, 2024. Give Pakistan to Nawaz is the party’s motto, “Pakistan Ko Nawaz Do,” emphasizing its pledge to carry out the platform if elected to power.

Among the manifesto’s main lessons are:

Constitutional Clause Restoration- The PML-N promises to bring Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution back to their pre-amendment state.

Abolishing NAB- The party aims to abolish the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Judicial Reforms- The manifesto emphasizes introducing digital reforms in the judiciary.

Economic Objectives- The PML-N wants to cut inflation by 10% by 2025 and 4–6% during the next four years. In three years, they also expect to create over 10 million jobs and achieve economic growth of more than 6%.

Infrastructure and Energy- The party pledges quick development, more affordable and abundant power, and youth initiatives.

Foreign Policy- Part of their vision includes a welcoming foreign policy and zero tolerance for terrorism.

PMLN in Pakistan has a rich history of governance and leadership. However, the party has also been mired in controversies and challenges, which have shaped its public perception and political trajectory.
