Islamabad, 27 September 2023 (WAI): Minister of Health Pakistan, Dr. Nadeem Jan was warmly received at the Saudi Embassy. The minister met Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Al-Malik to discuss matters regarding the health sector and others of mutual interest.
Both countries have been sharing warm and brotherly relations. The Saudi Ambassador stated that Saudi Arabia will cooperate at its best in welfare projects.
Pakistan is highly enthusiastic to host the first-ever Global Health Security Summit this year in Islamabad, highlighting the country’s devotion to advancing the Global Health Security Agenda at an unprecedented level. The ambassador praised the initiative of the Global Health Security Summit.
The minister stated that concerted actions are being taken to ensure a continuous supply of medications throughout the country. The Ambassador was briefed that, while Pakistan manufactures vaccines, there is a need for knowledge transfer to increase capacity and that, to that end, M/o NHSRC is looking forward to working with friendly nations.

The Saudi Ambassador was also informed of the steps being taken to construct Pharma Park. According to the Minister, manufacturing molecules in Pakistan would increase the availability of medications through the transfer of knowledge. In this context, the Saudi Health Minister will approach the Minister of Health.
