Jeddah, 9 November 2023 (WAI): An official statement from the 57-member organization’s headquarters in Jeddah stated that Saudi Arabia had called an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Monday to address the worsening military situation in Gaza.
The leaders of the Islamic countries are anticipated to attend the unprecedented meeting on November 12.
The President of Iran has already declared his intention to attend, but Pakistan has yet to decide which representative will travel to the conference.
However, considering the significance Pakistan places on the Palestinian cause, it seems inevitable that the Prime Minister or the President will leave.
According to the official release, the conference in Riyadh will cover the topic of “brutal aggression against the Palestinian people.”
Following Hamas’s historic operation, more than a month had passed since Israeli soldiers brutally attacked the Gaza population. Now, the leaders of the Islamic nations would meet.
Over 10,000 individuals have died as a result of the Israeli military onslaught, with nearly half of those victims being minors.
Even the US, which dropped 15,000 tons of ammunition on Japan during World War II, was surpassed by the Israeli defense forces, which dumped 30,000 tons of ammunition on the Gaza Strip in a single month.
In reaction to the worsening military situation in Gaza, the OIC executive committee earlier on October 18 convened an extraordinary session in Saudi Arabia. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia co-chaired the summit.

But since then, things have become worse, which is why the OIC decided to call the summit.
Following its special meeting last month, the Executive Committee released a united communiqué in which it accused Israel of committing “war crimes.”
It also harshly denounced the UN Security Council for its inability to stop the humanitarian disaster, but more significantly, it opened fire on Israel’s supporters for their “double standards” and held them accountable for enabling the Jewish State to carry out crimes without repercussions.
It demanded immediate action to stop the killing. It asked the world community to hold the Israeli occupation responsible for these horrific war crimes against the Palestinian people and all of humanity.
