Jeddah, 6 November 2023 (WAI): Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will organize a conference on “Women in Islam” that will commence on Monday, November 6, 2023.
The General Secretariat of OIC will host the “International Conference on “Women in Islam”: Status and Empowerment” in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the supervision of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
This three-day conference, which concludes on November 8, is dedicated to celebrating the achievements of Muslim women throughout history and now. It aims to showcase women’s contributions to the development of OIC member countries and to combat negative propaganda that depicts Islam as an impediment to women’s rights.
This conference aims to show that Islamic teachings are consistently kind and equal to women. The planned symposium intends to develop a thorough strategy for legislative and political reforms in Islamic countries to promote justice and empower women.
The gathering will also adopt a detailed text named “The Jeddah Document for Women in Islam,” defining significant efforts and methods for accomplishing this aim. Also, the conference will feature five working sessions in which ministers, officials, intellectuals, and thought leaders of both genders will talk about the condition of women and their privileges in Islam.
