He underscored the importance of putting an end to Israel’s military assault against the Palestinian people, as well as the importance of creating humanitarian corridors to enable the safe and ongoing supply of humanitarian supplies to Gaza.

Furthermore, he asked the EU to defend the vulnerable Palestinian population and push Israel to comply with its international humanitarian law commitments.

One of his primary aims was the EU’s assistance to the peace process, which would eventually lead to forming an independent Palestinian state in conformity with international law and United Nations resolutions.

In response, EU High Representative Josep Borrell emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire to end the ongoing bloodshed and ensure continuous access to crucial humanitarian supplies for needy people.

He reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to collaborating with regional partners to protect and help civilians by ensuring access to basic supplies such as food, water, medical care, and fuel for Gaza people.

The EU’s representative also stressed the critical significance of finding a just and comprehensive political solution to the Palestinian issue to ensure regional and global peace and security.
