Islamabad, 7 September 2023 (WAI): The newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, officially took charge on Wednesday, September 5, 2023. He received a warm welcome from representatives and officials of the embassy in Islamabad.
A government official from the Protocol Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan gave a gracious welcome to Zaidong as representative of the government of Pakistan. Furthermore, the Chargé d’affaires, Pang Chunxe, counselor Bao Zong, and government officials, were all received warmly and graciously, emphasizing the importance of the new diplomatic mission.
He laid emphasis on the on the core link between both countries, adding to this he said Pakistan and China are “iron’ friends, enduring partners and all-time allies. The friendship with China is an intrinsic consent and agreement across various aspects and segments of the Pakistani society.
Also, the government official assured the Chinese Ambassador of complete facilitation of Pakistan in enabling the mission and promoting future progress and advancement in bilateral cooperation in every domain.
About the new Chinese Ambassador Zaidong:
The Chinese Ambassador succeeded Nong Rong, who is now a member of the Party Committee and an Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. The diplomatic journey of the newly appointed ambassador includes his appointment as Attaché, Third Secretory of the Embassy in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam followed by his role as First Secretory, Deputy Director, and Director of the Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Later in 2010 and 2014, he served as a counselor at the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and as a counselor at the Asian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, respectively.
He had been appointed as the Deputy Director-General of the Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2017, and in 2018 was appointed to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China.
