Islamabad, 18 September 2023 (WAI): On September 15, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Raza Amiri Mughal, met with Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Malik Amjad Zubair Tawana at FBR headquarters.

Senior officials from the Federal Board of Revenue, including Member (Admin), Member Customs (Operations), and other relevant authorities, attended the meeting.

During the discussion, the two sides addressed customs-related problems, improved border management effectiveness, and promoted seamless cross-border trade, notably through the Mir Jaweh Taftan crossing point shared by the two countries. Combines

Furthermore, the two officials discussed the potential of establishing an extra gate at the Mir Jaweh-Taftan crossing point to facilitate cross-border trade and pilgrim housing.

The Iranian envoy further stated that the Rimdan-Gabd crossing point has the potential to considerably increase bilateral commerce between the two nations.

Both parties agreed to step up efforts to increase commerce and improve communication between the two friendly nations.

The chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue pledged complete cooperation in addressing customs concerns in order to promote bilateral commerce between the two nations.

Furthermore, it was mutually agreed that the two nations’ officials would meet again by the end of this month to address any outstanding border concerns.
