Islamabad, 20 December 2023 (WAI): The 8th CPEC Media Forum was hosted today in Islamabad. The China Economic Net (CEN) and the Pakistan-China Institute (PCI) collaborated on its organization. “Next decade of CPEC: Opportunities & learning from the past decade” was the forum’s subject.
Chief guest at the occasion was the interim Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi. Gwadar University students were also present as special guests during the forum.
Minister Murtaza Solangi praised the changing power of CPEC in his keynote address. In addition to creating 2,36,000 employees since 2013, the CPEC is expected to produce 1.2 million direct jobs, which will help strengthen the local workforce and lessen regional inequities.
He expressed gratitude for the CPEC Media Forum as well. One such arena that separates reality from falsehood is the CPEC Media Forum. False information was widely disseminated even before the CPEC project was realized.
To shape public opinion on CPEC, he thus asked the media to exercise its responsible and impartial role. In addition, he declared, “Let’s work together to dispel myths, recognize successes, and build a future where the promise of CPEC is fully realized.”
Cui Jun, the president of China Economic Net, also read aloud Sun Weidong’s congrats, who is currently China’s vice minister of foreign affairs.
China’s ambassador, Jiang Zaidong, thanked the Ministry of Information, China Economic Net, and PCI for organizing the 8th CPEC Media Forum.
He also commended the conference for squelching CPEC-related falsehoods. In addition, he emphasized the value of the China-Pakistan Friendship by citing the accomplishments of the CPEC’s Gwadar projects.

BRI was all about its transparency, inclusion, and connection, according to PCI Chairman Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed.
He noted that almost $26 billion had been set out for investments under the BRI’s CPEC plan, producing 236,000 new employees. Additionally, 8,000 megawatts of power were made.
In addition, 510 kilometers of highways and roads were constructed as part of the CPEC projects.
Furthermore, via a video link, Pakistan’s ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, spoke at the event.
“The relationship between China and Pakistan is unique and is based on a high degree of trust, mutual respect, and the need to support sharing interests,” he continued. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to the CPEC’s superior growth.
