Islamabad, 21 August 2023 (WAI): Azerbaijan has announced to start direct flights between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), the largest airline of the country is set to introduce direct flights to Pakistan from September 20, 2023, hinting to enhancing the ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. The aviation will be operated from the capital city of Pakistan – Islamabad, and from the two big cities – Lahore and Karachi.
On Wednesday, the Embassy of Azerbaijan Official Elchin Mehdiyev said: “Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi are the cities enriched with significant cultural and historical heritage, making them entrancing to visit.
Furthermore, he stated that the new flights will set off on Wednesdays and Saturdays—from Baku to Islamabad, to Lahore on Mondays and Fridays, and on Thursdays and Sundays from Karachi. “This adaptive plan is scheduled to be suitable for all the passengers.
The first new flight will take off from Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD) to the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, at Islamabad International Airport (ISB), commencing on September 20.
The second landing place is Lahore, Pakistan, the flight will take off from Baku and fly towards Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE). The first flight will operate from Baku on September 22.
The final flight will begin to operate on September 21 to Karachi, Pakistan. The plane will depart from Baku for Pakistan’s most engaged international airport, Jinnah International Airport (KHI).
The commencement of the new AZAL flights will advance relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, nourish diplomatic ties, and promote international transportation and tourism.
