Islamabad, 23 January 2024 (WAI):Â President Dr. Arif Alvi has reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong dedication to the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
In a meeting with China’s Vice Foreign Minister, Sun Weidong, President Alvi underscored the pivotal role of Chinese support in the upcoming phase of CPEC for Pakistan’s industrial progress. He commended China’s assistance in stabilizing Pakistan’s economy and highlighted the enduring friendship between the two nations.
Acknowledging China’s consistent support during challenging times, President Alvi credited CPEC projects for contributing to Pakistan’s economic growth and addressing energy needs. He expressed a keen interest in learning from Chinese experiences across various sectors to boost Pakistan’s socio-economic development.

The President reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for China on key issues and expressed gratitude for China’s support on national development, as well as its principled stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong reciprocated the sentiments, emphasizing the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and China. He anticipated further strengthening of ties and acknowledged the success of CPEC, highlighting the vast potential for increased cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
