Addis Ababa, 22 December 2023 (WAI): Ambassador Atif Sharif, Ambassador of Pakistan to Ethiopia, recently engaged in a pivotal discussion with Lemma Gudeta, the Chief Commercial Officer of Ethiopian Airlines (ET Airlines)—the meeting aimed to explore and strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Ethiopia in the aviation sector.
During the discussions, the focus was primarily on the ongoing collaboration between the two nations in aviation. Under Lemma Gudeta’s leadership, ET Airlines commenced four weekly flights between Addis Ababa and Karachi on May 23. This marked a significant milestone in the bilateral relations, enhancing connectivity and fostering economic and cultural exchanges between Ethiopia and Pakistan.
Ambassador Sharif acknowledged the positive impact of the existing air link and expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to expand further and deepen the aviation operations between the two countries. The Ambassador emphasized the potential for increased trade, tourism, and people-to-people contacts facilitated by robust air connectivity.
Lemma Gudeta, Chief Commercial Officer of ET Airlines, reciprocated the enthusiasm for strengthening ties with Pakistan.
