Tehran, 5 November 2023 (WAI): Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, met with Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Tehran-backed Palestinian organization Hamas, in Tehran on Sunday, Iranian state media claimed, one day after a Hamas spokesman stated they had met recently.
Haniyeh briefed Khamenei on the most recent events in the Gaza Strip and the atrocious acts of the Zionist regime in Gaza, as well as what is happening in the West Bank, as per the Iranian official media.
The Islamic Republic of Iran claims to assist Hamas but denies any involvement in the group’s unexpected strike on Israel a month ago.
Iran’s supreme authority, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declared on Tuesday that Tehran was not engaged in Hamas’ weekend attack on Israel, but he praised Israel’s “irreparable” military and intellectual setback.
This devastating explosion (Hamas’ strike) has damaged several vital infrastructures in Israel that will be difficult to reconstruct. “The actions of the Zionist regime are culpable for this anarchy,” declared Khamenei.
According to Iran’s state-run television, “Ayatollah Khamenei applauded the unwavering determination and fortitude of the inhabitants of Gaza and voiced deep grief over the atrocities of the Zionist regime, backed directly by Washington along with certain Western countries.”
Not specifying the date or location of the meeting, Iran’s Tasnim news agency said that Khamenei “emphasized Tehran’s unwavering stance in supporting Palestinian resistance movements against Zionist occupiers.”

Iran’s religious leadership has warned Israel, which it rejects to recognize, with “harsh consequences” if airstrikes on Gaza continue.
A strike on Gaza, according to Khamenei, would ultimately “unlock a significantly greater storm of rage.”
“The invading repression attempts to depict itself as a victim to escalate its crimes. This is a flawed calculation. It will lead to even worse tragedy,” Khamenei warned.
